Mold can be a health risk to your family and loved ones

While most species of mold are harmless, there are many that can be detrimental to your family’s health and destructive to the structural integrity of your home.  Molds produce allergens and in some cases mycotoxins.  The presence of these can cause reactions in humans and animals.  Exposure can be through inhalation, skin contact,  or ingestion.  Symptoms of mold exposure include headache, sneezing, fever, runny nose, red eyes, skin rash among others.

Mold inspections and remediation protect your home and business

Mold inspections are important at your home or business.  It is important to identify and rectify mold infestations and eliminate conditions conducive to future infestations.  By proactively finding and fixing problems which may lead to mold growth you will help ensure the safety and health of your family.  It is less expensive to correct these problems than to remediate a mold infestation.  In our humid, Midwestern climate, you should always conduct a mold inspection before buying a new home or renting new office space.

Aegis mold inspectors are licensed and honest

Our mold inspectors are certified by the Professional Mold Inspection Institute (PMII) and are members of and abide by the standards of the National Association of Mold Inspectors (NAMI).  A mold inspection conducted by Aegis Environmental Services will inspect for active microbial growth and also for conditions that may contribute to future growth.  You will receive a computer-generated report of our findings and support in resolving any mold related problems that may be present.  You also receive our promise that your inspection will be conducted professionally, respectfully, and honestly.

What is mold?

Molds are microscopic organisms that live on plant or animal matter. They aid in the break down of dead material and recycle nutrients in the environment. Present virtually everywhere, molds can be found growing on organic material such as soil, foods, and plant matter. In order to reproduce, molds produce spores, which spread through air, water, or by insects. These spores act like seeds and can form new mold growth if the conditions are right.  Molds need nutrients and moisture to grow.  Controlling indoor moisture will help prevent mold spores from colonizing and infesting your home or business.
